Sony Video Capture Incompatibility

Not a serious issue for me, but I am unable to get Sony Video Capture to accept my video capture device. Would this be a limitation of Sony's Video Capture software or the WDM driver for the capture device? I see the device listed on the Video menu, but when I choose it I get an error message.

I am curious, because VirtualDub 1.5 recognizes the device just fine and I am able to capture at all frame rates and resolutions with no issues or dropped frames.

The device uses the Empia EM2800 USB 2.0 chipset.

Thanks,

Randy

Generally... Vegas's vidcap is purely for capture of video via Firewire only. Some people... with some specific types of analog or other capture devices have sometimes been able to get vidcap to work with them... but generally.... it's just not a viable way to capture in Vegas.
