Sony WV-DR7 1394 device control weirdness

I'm using the Sony WV-DR7 with VV3.0a and even though I can FULLY control (Rec,Play,Pause,>>,<<,Jog, etc) the deck from the Capture controls and DV properties...(info is SD SVCR with 525-60) when I go to print to tape it does not give me the radio button option to Use device control. I can record manually without any problem. If I use Vidcap to print to tape the device control works fine. Anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

Sounds similar to the problems with the Sony DSR-11. I've noticed SCLive also has a problem with it. But Premiere6 works fine. Odd.

Vegas currently doesn't support DV device control on certain decks, you can either use Video Capture to print with device control.

Or print from the Vegas timeline but manually kick the deck into record mode before starting the print from the timeline.

Well, could you tell us WHICH decks are not supported? I have a Sony DHR-1000 (PAL) deck that VV3a doesn't seem to like too much. If the DHR-1000 isn't supported, are there plans to support it sometime in the future. There has to be thousands of 'em out there.

Deef...

Why was I told, when I called tech support, BEFORE buying a deck, that you use Sony up there and VV3 works with all Sony products with 1394? Why does VidCap have no problem controlling ALL the functions, including start record, but print to tape can't figure out how to do it?
