Can someone tell me what the difference between these two codecs and which one is better?

I loaded 43 seconds captured DV AVI file into Vegas, and then rendered it two times using both codecs. When rendering with NTSC DV condec Vegas just copied the file to the new folder because file size is the same - 163 KB. When rendering with Sony YUV codec Vegas rendered the whole file and file size is 900 KB.

I see myself that two differnces between these two codecs are:
1. File size.
2. Combing (interlacing) artifact. Combing was less visible (I can say video was smoother) in the file rendered with NTSC DV codec. But combing was very much visable in the file rendered with Sony YUV codec.

What else is differnt between these codecs?

And what codec should I use when I want to record my video from Vegas timeline to stanalone JVC DVD recorder?
