Sony Z1 not found

I have just reformatted my Sony Vaio Laptop because XPservice Pack2 was playing havoc with my DV Rack.....

I installed a fresh copy of XP with SP1 and now the computer won't recognise my Sony HVR-Z1. It displays an error message in the Device Manager saying that the "AV/C Subunit not found". I've searched everywhere to try and fix this, all to no avail, however, I read on another forum where Spot/DSE has posted that the drivers could be found in the "Sounds, Video and Game Controllers" folder.
That's great, but just where does one find this folder?

Any help would be much appreciated,

TJ

I have a horrible suspicion you need SP2 for HDV, hope I'm wrong.

No reason XPSP2 should cause problem. You need SP2 for so much. Run the full Windows update and set a clean restore point BEFORE you install ANY programs. Then install programs and drivers one by one looking to see if and when your problem returns. I'll bet you it wont and you will never know just what it was but I guarantee it was not SP2.

Good lick anyway

You do need SP2.

You only need SP2 if you want Windows to auto-drive the cam, but you can force SP1 to see the DVHS drivers in Contro Panel options.
