Sorenson Squeeze & Vegas

Does any here use Sorenson Squeeze ? It looks like the product I need to crunch movies for the web, but am wondering how well it works with Vegas output ...

On the SS website they only say that it integrates well with Apple Final Cut Pro, Apple iMovie, Adobe Premiere, and Avid Xpress DV.

I suppose it shouldn't make any difference really, but I'd be very interested in any user comments ...

thanks

I'm not sure I understand what is meant by "integrates," but I tried the beta many months ago. The output from VV 3.0 worked just fine!

I'd love to get the Suite, but too many $$$, and upgrading to Vegas + DVD was a higher priority, for me anyway. Besides, I've since read that to get the quality you see from the studios' online trailers you also need Cleaner--another $500+ and all that adds up to being too rich for my blood.

The biggest market I *think* for squeeze is getting your video into flash. Sorenson had a pro version of their encoder that I thought worked just like choosing sorenson now for your quicktime compression, only you could change stuff.

The latest version of Cleaner to my knowledge is only available for the MAC, so in windows it's a wait and see on how well it compete's with procoder.

For my money, it's hard to get better output on a regular desktop then you can now using the real and wmv plugins in Vegas. If you want to come closer to the Apple trailers, try encoding sections of your project using different quality settings and such, then merging them into one clip using any of the available utilities.

Cleaner is available for the PC. Being the doubting Thomas that I am, I'd have to see a sample to believe that you can even get close to the Apple Trailers using the method you described. But that's just me, please don't take offense!

I use Squeeze to create FLV files from Vegas renders to import into FlashMX. However, I don't use Squeeze for anything else. Squeeze works well with Vegas AVIs. Very well.
