Hate to ask newb question in here.. but i have no idea what key terms to search forum/manual for...

Description: In Vegas 3, if i moved the marker/curser (while clip is being played) further down on the time line and re-pressed play button - play would auto restart at where i had the marker.

I upgraded to V5.. & that no longer works.. not really that big of deal but has been buggin me cuz i am so use to doing it the old way.

Any one happen to know the switch to turn this on?
or maybe is this only V3?
thanks in advance

Not sure if this is exactly what you're talking about, but in Preferences, the following toggle can be found:

"Make spacebar and F12 play/pause instead of play/stop"

Use space bar to stop/start playing at the cursor or enter key to play/pause where you actually are in the timeline.

well...as i should have figured.. 99% of newb questions for windows users can be answered with - Reboot.

doh...

was editing too many hours straight... bug apparently popped up with play button... after i restarted vegas it work fine....

But the other thing i discovered for the record...

While youre playing from the time line.. if you click like, say, further down on the timeline (which obviously moves the marker) .. the video play will not jump to the new marker position.. IF you click anywhere on a track...

you have to click on a down on a 'grey' area on your time line where a track doesn't exist... I had like 18 tracks on video i was working the other day.. so the video (while playing) wouldn't skip to the point where i clicked since my timeline workspace was solid tracks....

boy .. hoping i am not being too confusing here...
just a hard to explain (but frustrating situation) if you run into it..
