From the manual ...

Page 92 ...

Sorting your media with bins ...

When you're creating your masterpiece, your project is likely to get a little unwieldy—you can't express creative genius with a handful of media files, after all.

The detailed view of the Project Media window helps you sort your media files using their attributes, but for more control, you can create bins. Bins are folders within projects that you can use to organize your media files.

Media bins are virtual folders that are saved with your project. They do not affect the way media is saved on your computer.

Not sure if that helps ... Thing is it appears that if you sort on say “modified”, in details view, when you switch back to thumbnails view, say to hover/scrub, it defaults to filename sort, which may not be what is wanted?

Is it possible? I would like to see my tag bins in alphanumeric order.

It is annoying...
I have to think about my bin names, before making them, or they will be out of order.
I have yet to see a way to sort them, other than creating them in alphabetical order.

Some good news. The newest update to Vegasaur includes a new tool to sort media bins, either ascendant or descendant alpha-numeric, or custom.

I still need to sort tags, as I tend to use lot of them. Thank you Vegasaur.
