Thanks for the prompt reply. I'd read on the web that the Spyder 2 software would install and work with my ColorPlus. It did install and accept my serial number, but it can't find the hardware. I tried to download separately the Spyder 2 driver so that I could try an independent installation of it, but I just get a continuous hourglass. Maybe tomorrow will give me the driver; but it seems it should have been installed already with the setup program. That's why I'm looking around for other solutions in case this doesn't work.

Just for the record, I finally got it to work after ? hours tinkering. In the end, I had to restore my hard disk to an earlier date using an up-to-date Paragon image, then I installed the Spyder2express software. In 5 min. all was working fine.

Apparently, my original installation of the ColorPlus software left traces behind after I uninstalled it that gummed up the works and made the Spyder2 software faulty.
