SOT!! - When Kelly met Grazie . . .

After some 7 years of electronic comms via email, then chat, then SKYPE . . Kelly (a.k.a. CHIENWORKS) and I met, along with a totally charming business colleague of his.

We met at the BFI (British Film Institute - one of my fav "come-to's" for my favourite UK-Visitors) and proceeded to walk along the southern Thames Embankment, where, of course, I held Court on the various sites to be "drunk-in" . . Speaking of which we did an awfully restrained version of 2 hours later in the Bar . . .

We took in the OXO Tower, the "Wobbly-Bridge", St Paul's Cathedral, the distant City-Scape and Tower Bridge. Finally returning on the opposite side of the River we were able to marvel at the illuminated, "cerise-coloured", London-Eye and National Theatre - marvellous!

Kelly is one of life's true gentlemen. If you have ever felt this when you have read his responses here, I can safely confirm that this is even more apposite, now that I have met him in the flesh.

As I left them to return home, they were making plans to visit Stonehenge. I'm now wondering what the Druids will make of Kelso? All those vertical columns, I bet Kelly will divine something Binary from their 1-0-1-0 appearance.

A great evening . .

Grazie

Not off topic at all Grazie - it's confirmation of what this forum is all about for many.

I'm one of those fortunate enough to have had a beer with you at the BFI - how about a list of all the lucky ones?

I have to say, Grazie's a true gentleman (and quite a piece of work too!) Such a bottomless fountain of information, humor, and care. There's not many better in this world. :)

This is a first! - I really can't find myself disagreeing with ANYTHING Kelly has said. Dang!

Grazie

ps:- You missed out the bit I expressly told you to say, about telling them I'm MODEST to a fault too!!

And then Grazie said, "If I had a little more humility, I'd be perfect!" LOL (Actually, that's a Ted Turner quote that's always amused me.)

As one who knows nobody personally on this thread, I'll say I enjoyed the meeting vicariously nonetheless given the constant contributions of both people to these forums...

I too can atest, having met the fair and modest Grazie at the BFI on the Thames for a couple of cold brews, and too was treated to his famed walking tour of the older pubs in London Town. No other I have met is as knowledgeable as he about "his London". Looking forward to our next meeting...perhaps on this side of the pond, eh?
