Sound card issue

Hi Team!

I have an SB Audigy sound card.

When I try to run Vegas, the following message appears...

The ASIO device SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO [DE80] does not support the current sample rate.

What sampling rate should I adjust to?

I have set this card up in preferences.

When I go into Video Capture, this sound card appears but is greyed out..why?

Most pro video audio trks. sample rate is 48kHz/16bit.

RRaud,

Should I set my sampling rate at 16bit?

That's impossible, actually. But try this...

Set your sample rate to 48kHz and set your bit depth to 16-bit.

If that doesn't work try a different setting, nothing is going to blow up if it's wronge.

Thanks James.

I seem to capture OK with default settings.

Will I notice major differences when I set to 48kHz and 16 bit depth?

James.

I have an issue still - I think.

When I look into my Audio Device Preference setting, my Audio Device Type is set as "Windows Classic Wave Driver" with front, rear and center playback all greyed out with my sound card specs (SB Audigy 2 ZS Audio DE80) beside each one.

The default audio recording device is set to SB Audigy 2 ZS Audio DE80 and is not greyed out.

When I select "Advanced", the sample rate and bit depth options are not there to select.

What is happening here?

Why can't I select SB Audigy 2 ZS Audio DE80 as my Audio Device Type - initially?

be careful reading too much into that message, Vegas will say it for all sorts of reasons, many having nothing at all to do with "the current input format"
