Sound delay while recording...with in/out metronome at the wrong place...

I got problems recording live sound.
If I try to play along a metronome, I don't seem to have choice to get a delay between what's being recorded and ... a delay.
If I mute the wave/mp3 input on my crapative soundblaster live devalue, I don't have this delay anymore but can't hear the metronmome.
I think I'm confused. What settings do you use with Windows and Creative center to get direct sound along with metronome? And to get direct sound along with previous recorded track + metromome?
Thanks.

sounds like you have a latency problem, i havent tried recording audio in vegas, i use cubase sx for audio work.
anyways, you need a soundcard with asio driver(i dont think SBlive value supports asio)
but you can follow this link http://come.to/sblive download the kx driver for your sblive.
i m not a sblive user but i heard ppl using that driver with low latency as low as 8ms.
give it a try.

Thanks way2slo, I downloaded and installed it. I'm gonna make a recording test later.
Nice soft, by the way...
