Sound disappearing when playing DVD

Anyone else have a problem with their DVD+R discs cutting out the audio when playing it back on a set top player? My DVD's seem to work great all except for this one problem. When skipping through the chapters, it will almost always cut the sound out. My player has never done this with any other DVD which leads me to believe it has something to do with the disc but I don't know what.

Now, when the sound does go out when skipping chapters, I can get it back by hitting fast forward then immediately pressing play. But if I don't do that, then the sound is gone after skipping until I go back to a menu.

Anyone know what may cause this? Thanx!

How are you burning your disc?

Or, put a differnet way - are you using DVDR or DVDRW....which brand of DVD Player do you have? Have you tested in other players? Do you get the same result?

I have the same problem. Audio plays fine as long as I don't set position via next/prev chapter or scene selection menu. The DVD Player is a Panasonic D4743 - it's a DVD/VCR Combo. I have a couple of Sony's around also. I'll try them out and post the results.

All commercial DVD's play fine on the Panasonic. I can use next/prev chapter and the scene selection menu without any audio problems.

I am using DVD-RW's now...
