Sound editor mystery VP18

With VP 16/17 I can select and use Adobe Audition 3 as editor. VP18 will not accept Audition but will accept SF14.
All VP versions on same machine. Sys 1 in profile.

Same set up on laptop Audition is OK with VP18.

Any ideas why??

AFAIK, Audition is a non-destructive multi-track DAW (just like VP's audio section). Sound Forge is a multi-channel destructive editing application.

Reinstalled a couple of times. Whilst AA ran perfectly as a standalone it would not function with VP18. Changed compatability mode to W7. Audition now running OK with VP18.
