The first (and simplest) thing to do is use the "Normalize" switch. Just right-click on the audio track and you'll find those switches.

Use the setting for "Voice."

WOW! That's what I LOVE about Vegas! The User Forums
and the product itself! I learn something NEW each day!

That "normalize" switch did the trick, I wish I knew about this
switch a month ago when I needed it. Live and learn!

Totally agree that the forums are a great way to learn Vegas tips and tricks.
I had the exact same low audio problem just a couple of days before I read the post. I shot a video with the Toronto Argonauts football team and only Mike "Pinball" Clemens was wired. A couple of other team members made unexpected comments with only the on-camera mic and one of them was so low, i didn't think I'd be able to use it at all.

Should have consulted the forum, but I thought the only way to fix the audio would be with something like SoundForge, - which I don't have. Reading the posts has taught me a lot that I likely never would have discovered on my own, especially since every member, minus us newbies, is so knowledgeable and always sharing their expertise so generously with anyone who asks for help.
Happy Thanksgiving weekend to everyone it applies to - in Canada it's tomorrow:-)

where do you change the settings for normalize?
I only know the peak level in the audio tab.

I was taught never be afraid to ask and this is the place t ask.
Thank you !

The "switches" is on the audio track. Right click your mouse and should be able to see it.

I know where the normalize switch is(audio trck), plus where to change it's value (in the "audio" tab of "preferences" )
But I have never seen a place to change a setting like "voice", so if it's there I"d like to know, or if its incorrect info some clarification.
