Sound is Delayed

I thought it might be something with my older dv handycam, but i just bought a sr11, and it does the same thing! When uploading the video to my computer, the audio is delayed really bad!
Is it my computer? OR the settings on the camera or in the vegas software? When i playback the video thru to the tv or on the camera itself, it's perfect. Only when uploading or copying to the comp.

I am a complete amature, so any help would be great!

Are you uploading via firewire? Doon't use USB.

1. Make sure you have updated to the latest free version of Vegas.
2. Make sure your PC is fast enough for AVCHD editing. AVCHD requires a REALLY FAST computer and 2 GBs of RAM to work properly.

usb is the only option on the sr11, and the sales rep said it doesn't effect quality just speed.

i have a quad core processor and 2 gigs of RAM. My brother is bringing up his laptop and i'll try it on his with my software. That should answer at least if it's the software or comp.

No need to try a laptop. Your PC is plenty fast. You just need to update to the latest version of the software. That was the first thing you should have done.
