Sound is not even

After rendering, the sound on my music video is uneven. At the beginning it goes up and down. Not huge amounts but enough to hear. If I compare the ending of the song to the beginning of the song the difference is a lot. Anyone know what might be happening? Is the 64 bit patch causing this? It's the only change I've done. I'm using VMS 11 right now. Nothing but problems since I've upgraded from v10. Not that there weren't problems with v10. Thanks.

What is the format your music is recorded in? WAVs will provide the best and most consistent quality.

Also, have you used the audio meter to keep the sound at a consistent and acceptable level?

Steve, I downloaded Sony Pro trial and uploaded a snippet to youtube and the volume is as it should be. Of course my VMS 11 project file won't open in vegas pro 10 (did a workaround). And I'm uploading the complete file to youtube now and if it works I know it is OK. And I will upgrade to vegas pro.

Concerning VMS, I have a wav file and no clipping is involved. It peaks at 0 db. With VMS 10 I never had this problem (had rendering problems though). I applied the 64 bit patch to VMS 11 because it wouldn't render my file. Renders fine now but the audio is sporadic, up and down. I'm wondering if the patch may have something to do with the audio. But anyway, so far, my experience with VMS 11 has not been good. Thanks for your reply.
