Sound Level Change Points

I used VMS once back when it was another name and it seems there was the ability to change the sound level in piecemeal fashion. I have a group of stills, a music sound track as background. I cant seem to change the level of the sound at various points along the music. I can drag the level line for the ENTIRE song but it used to be able to click and a point would be inserted and I could drag or taper down the music level for 10 seconds or 30 seconds and then click and insert another point to bring it back up.
You could drag the little yellow level line up and down at any point in the audio track. I want to lower the music for a bit and add a narration piece there then bring the music track level back up. Need some way to insert an "inflection" point to adjust the sound level at random points. NOT just the ENTIRE track

Im using the Trial Version of VMS.
Thanks.

Is there something

I'm not at my editing PC now so bear with me.... You want to highlight the audio track that you want to adjust. Then from the menu, insert an audio envelope. Once that has been done, right click on the audio track, on the blue line that denotes the audio level, and select "Add Point". A blue box will appear that can be dragged up and down to adjust the level, and right or left as needed. Additional points can be added to adjust the volume as needed.
