Please, someone remind how to install the Noise Reduction 2 plug-in. Setting up on my new machine and have forgotten how. Have the NR2 on my older machine and can't find where I downloaded from Sony.
Thanks CourseDesign for that pointer, which I shouldn't have needed to ask. So I've downloaded and installed NR2, but it hasn't appeared in SF as yet. I'll check that DirectX is installed. Do I need to do anything else? My memory (which is clearly most unreliable) is that last time it just installed.
Grazie, apart from my terrible phrasing, I guess I'm still short of actual operational installation.
Thanks Grazie - that did it! First call of NR brought up a debugger, but having no idea what to do with that I killed it and after a couple of stutters NR operated.
That script error does appear to be significant, but goes away when I keep hitting "no". However NR seems to be generating beeps which certainly aren't a characteristic of my old installation. In that installation I needed an activation code for NR, yet this time I'm not asked and can't trigger that request. Any ideas?
The beeps are coming because it isn't registered on that computer using the computer ID. It must be re-registered and re-activated on that computer, as the activation is keyed to an individual computer ID number.
Serena,
I had the same issue a while back when I installed NR 2.0c. Apparently 2.0c is only a specific update for something; I forget what. I got a registry fix from SONY support. here's the link. The beep means it's a trial version as the script errors are brought up by the activation porcess.
Yes, I had a "senior moment" or two when installing NR2 and didn't really get my mind in gear before hitting buttons. Somehow I've diverted the activation process, so although I have the new activation code I can't get NR2 to ask for it!! Guess I should try rolling back installations, but I have to say I'm better on the camera end of operations than I am in dealing with Windows. I've given Sony a ticket on the problem. I suspect that my copying NR2 directory (SoundForge) from the old machine was an unwise action.
Just to report finalising of this problem. As Tom said, the my registery file needed editing and Sony provided a download to do that. Easy when you know how. Thank you everyone who contributed.
