Source for background music

Hi All,
I found my way to VV5 by originally using Acid for my music hobby a couple years ago. Somewhere in there, I started worrying more about video production and do both family video editing and some low-budget commercial work.

For the commercials, I need nice sounding (and royalty free) music. While I like the flexibility to extend loops as needed in Acid and/or VV5, I don't really want to produce these things from the ground up anymore.

Please recommend some good acidized royalty free music beds... not just loop libraries...

Thanks!
Jeff

biggies,

This looks like interesting software (SonicFire Pro). Can you tell me generally how much the music costs? Also, when you implement the music, lets say you use only a 15 sec piece of audio, do you just pay for the 15 secconds, of the whole song??

Thanks,

MadMikey

I really like www.freeplaymusic.com.

Also, do a web search on royalty free music.

Smartsound.com web link isn't working. Maybe only temporary?

FYI, I am selling royalty free music on e-bay, not sure if I can post the link here. but here it is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=21166&item=3818205282&rd=1
The price is much cheaper than some places will charge you and the tracks have a good sound which could be used in a variety of productions.

$20 each song, which has a number of arrangements; same song, sounds a little different. $100 per CD with several songs (much better deal)...but if you need 1 song right now tonight at 2 AM, for $20 it's yours.

I use Sonic Fire Pro a lot, and while it's somewhat expensive, it's very handy, easy, and very high quality music...royalty free.

The whole song.

Thanks for the info on SonicFire Pro. Does sound a little expensive, but I guess once you get a few CD's you won't need to buy a lot to often.

I'm playing with the demo now.

THanks,

We've been using the Smart Sound tracks for some time. Recently we purchased Backtraxx libraries 1 and 2 from Digital Juice. This is a very comprehensive collection with a lot of variety. We also bought one volume of the new Stacktraxx, which is also very comprehensive and flexible as it allows for shutting individual tracks of a song off or using an envelope to fade them in as needed. You can preview the entire library at www.digitaljuice.com.

Okay I read the faq and terms of use
So if you're a big wig movie studio you can use the music free
but if you just want to use it for someone's wedding video THEN you have to pay????
Please explain to me someone?

Thanks

MadMikey,

I'm also thinking about ordering SonicFire Pro. Did you find a deal on it or did you just order it on their web site? Thanks.
