A few months ago at NAB, Sony stated that they would be releaseing/reselling Spectral Layers sometime this summer (I think). I have been eagerly awaiting this new product and holding off doing some projects that would require an audio correction tool. On the other hand, iZotope's RX2 is available now and has already been through the "growing pains" of a new release. I would find it helpful to hear from you folks on whether you think I should wait for Spectral Layers, or go with RX2 now.
By the way, I did a bit of background checking about the two companies and learned that iZotope was founded by Ph.D. audio scientists from MIT and is located in Boston, while Divide Concept (Spectral Layers) is in Paris and was founded by a person named Robin Lobel who has a Bachelors degree in cinema. Being a research scientist in computer vision, I am strongly influence by the above data and I am therefore leaning toward the RX2 product. Any thoughts?
