I know that if I hold down the CRT Key and put the mouse at the end of the video clip I can drag it to the left and it will make the video clip play slower.

But if I do not hold down the CRT Key and I still put my mouse at the end of the video clip I can still drage it to the left but is this still making it play slower or what is the diferance????

No, it doesn't make it slower. You just loop the clip over and over again. For example, if you just stretch it without CNTRL, then it just re-plays itself in normal speed.

FIRST: Dragging the end of the video event to the left will not slow down the video it will speed it up!! (With ctrl-drag)
SECOND: Plain dragging of the end of the event to the left will result in shortening the event (that us - editing out the material at the end of the event) not changing its speed.

I am sorry I ment to say if you drage the video clip to the RIGHT with CRTL Key will speed up the clip.

And if you drage the video clip without CRTL Key it will just loop the Video Clip.

But what if you just drage the video Clip without the CRTL Key to the RIGHT just a liitle will it still loop or it has to be a certane amount.

Nope, still wrong. Ctrl/drag to the right will SLOW down the clip. I think you know what you mean but are having trouble with the language?

OK Holding Down CRTL Key and drag to the RIGHT will slow down Video Clip.

What if you Drag clipt to the RIGHT without Holding CRTL....but just drag a little bit?

That wont make it loop will it?

It would. Why don't you just try it and let the clip play, and see what it does with your own eyes?

In OPTIONS>PREFERENCES>EDITING there is a box to check that is labeled ENABLE LOOPING ON EVENTS BY DEFAULT. If this is checked, when you drag an event to the right it will loop. The farther you drag it the more times it will loop. If this is not checked when you drag the event to the right it will freeze the last frame of the event and extend it out.

For further clarification: You cannot have a clip on the timeline and then go to the preferences and make the change and then go back to that clip and have the change effect it. You have to read the clip to the time line after you have made the change.

Also the event has to be an entire event. You cannot freeze extend a shortened event. Dragging that event will add back the edited out footage that was at the end of the event.. Example: you have an event consisting of frames abcdefgh on the time line. You edit that event by dragging the right side to the left so that it is now abcde. Later you go back and want to freeze that last frame and make abcdeeeeee. When you drag it to the right you will get the removed fgh back. One way to do the above would be toopen the event is the trimmer shorten the abcdefgh to abcde and make a subclip. When the subclip is added to the timeline the last frame will be extended if the feature in Preferences is unchecked.
