Hold down the CTRL key then drag the trailing edge of the clip to the left. You may not be able to speed it up that much. However, you can ctrl-drag it left as far as it will go, render it to a new AVI file then bring that into your timeline and ctrl-drag it again to speed it up further.

Another way is to Right Click on the clip, go to properties, and under the Video Event tab change the Playback rate, higher to speed it up, lower to slow it down.

Hondo, that's exactly the same as holding down the CTRL key and making the clip smaller - except the clip length doesn't change when you manually change the properties.
