Cntrl key held down while you drag an event edge. Or right click and adjust playback speed in prefs. Right click also to set "resample frames" for smooth speed adjustments. Should hold during rendering.

Thanks Craig, but is there a way without changing each specific event? That would take forever. All I want to do is make that little yellow triangle stick during rendering.

Someone please do you have an answer?

Randy,

You cannot use the yellow rectangle and it's associated slider to speed up or slow down your video and have it "stick" during the render process. You need to use the velocity envelope to accomplish what you want. It's effects are not limited to a single event.
1) Select the range of events you want to apply the velocity envelope to.
2) Select "Insert/video envelopes/Event Velocity"

Perhaps you could render at the normal speed to a single file, then start a new project with just that one file, Ctrl+edge drag it to the desired length, then render the final result. Note: if you bring up the properties on the audio event, you'll be able to pick whether the audio gets pitched or not when you change it's rate. Also, you'll want to experiment with event "resample" settings and advanced project properties "deinterlace" settings to get pick the appropriate setting for the desired look.

A further question about speeding up video. Why is there a limit of 3x in VV3.0a? Even Studio 7 goes up to 5x.

Cheers for any comments.

You might also try applying framerate up to +4x (event prop.)while using velocity env.

Randy, you can also select all the events and group them together. Then the Ctrl-drag will speed all of them up at the same time.

Right on: 4x via event rate and 3x via velocity envelope give you a total of 12x.
