Split audio

The split audio tracks script that is part of Excalibur has some drawbacks. If I want to split a stereo audio track and that's all it works fine. Or if I want to add all my clips to a timeline and then split all of those audio tracks at once it's fine.

But if I want to build the timeline progressively and split along the way it keeps splitting the previous tracks and adding audio layers.

Also it doesn't make the new audio tracks part of the group from which it resulted.

Is there anyway to amend that or does anyone have a script to do this?

You can try mine. But at this time, it works only with V7.

are two scripts that will do what you want but will do ALL audio events on the selected track. You could easily modify either to do only slected events as well or just move the audio events to their own tracks.

Excalibur works the same way - all events on the selected track(s). Of course I would have to modify it to work differently where you can modify the above scripts.

Sorry that I can only refer to you by your alias. Thanks, Rosebud. I have that one and it works with V7, as you indicated. I'm playing with 8 at the moment just to settle in.

Thanks again.

I found a script that does exactly what you want, and it works in V7 or VP8. I use it all the time.

It's the "Split Audio Channels V3" script by Gilles Pialat.
