split screen

How do I take two video clips and be able to show them both at the same time? I need to split the screen diagonaly from the top left down to the bottom right. Thanks.

Wow, sounds very complicated. I am a Premiere user and can do this with two mouse clicks. I like Vegas because of my experience with Acid. I want to make Vegas my main video app. I'll try what you said and thank you very much for your help.
