Split Screen

I just bought Vegas 3.0 a few days ago so I can produce some music instructional videos. I need to know how to split the screen so that I have the video of me playing the piano in the top 50 to 60% of the screen and then have a .gif file of the music notation in the lower part of the screen. Any help in accomplishing this will be most welcome.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question, I will follow your instructions. It would be greatly appreciated if you wouldn't mind sending the .veg file. My email address is adgordon@earthlink.net. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, applying track motion did the trick. Being totally new to digital video editing I thought it would take me months to learn the program but it has just been a matter of around 10 days and I can now do what I need to do.

It is not neccessary to send the .veg file as your tips have solved the problem for me. Once again thank you for your time and I will look at the articles & tips that you have posted.
