Split Screen Splitting?

I don't know if its possible to do this but is there a way to do this in Sony Vegas Pro 14(Skip to 0:18 too see what I mean in video):

More details would be use the pan/crop to crop down the video to what you want (in this case, 1/3 the width of the project) & use track motion to move it where you want.
