Split stereo DV audio into 2 mono tracks

Question regarding audio shortcut in Vegas 4.0. (I know how to do what I want to do by going through Sound Forge, but I imagine there is an easier way. I'm looking for suggestions about an easier way.

I have an interview (DV transferred to AVI using Vegas Capture 4) and the interviewer's mike is in on one channel and the personality is on the other channel. When I import both channels are brought in in one stereo track. I really want these two channels to be brought in as two mono tracks. I could render the audio from the clip and split it up with Sound Forge, but I'm wondering about a better way. For positioning and some EQ reasons, I really want the two mono tracks, not something that requires adjusting the pan controls.

Any suggestions helpful, even the best way to do it the 'hard way." :-)

In Vegas, Right click on the audio track header > Duplicate Track.

On the audio event/s in one track Right-click > Channels > Left only, on the other Right only.

PERFECT! Thanks much! That sure makes life a lot easier.

For some reason my brain missed going to the actual track event for channels and I was digging in properties.
