Splitting Audio

I would like to know if there is a way in Vegas to reassemble a track into one segment after it has been split(numerous times as is often the case)during editing.

The ability to reassemble is availabe in Acid Music (it is called "joining")and is a nice little tool for someone who would like to do further editing without having 50 segments to worry about.

You can either use the selection tool or Ctrl-mouse-click to select a group of events on the
timeline, then Edit, Groups, Create new (or the G keyboard shortcut) to
group them together.

No, you can't Join like you can in Acid, which is very annoying. I've mentioned it as a feature request for Vegas Audio 3.0 but I don't have any idea if it will be in the new version.

The best workaround is to Group events or you can Render to a new file...
