Splitting event to switch fx

Hello again. In a music based clip I would like to split at various points and change the effects but I don't want that jerk in the audio track. Would I just select the video portion to split? And would there be a trick to Crossfade the video keeping the audio track intact without losing sync? Thank you.

@WestsideSteve - Wouldn’t a Bus Track with the SFXs applied to it, along with Envelopes to bring in and out the SFX be useful here?

That never occurred to me.

Thanks

Click on the video and press "U" to "ungroup" it from the audio. Then you can split the video event as desired without touching the audio event. And, yes, you can add crossfades on the video track to smooth the transition. In fact, put the cursor on the split on press / on the numeric keypad for a quickly added crossfade. Just make sure you extend the events and don't move them to create the overlap or you'll get the video out of sync with the audio.
