Splitting/Joining parts of video?

Hi,

I am trying out trial version of Vegas 6. Something strange.. I can't seem to find any way to split, join, or take out parts of video clips.. how does one do that?? I can't believe such a comprehensive (and expensive) program can't do that!

S = Split

Join: Several ways to do this. I use Group.

"take out parts of video clips.. " - I use the Trimmer. Right click on the "event" and Open In Trimmmer. This will show you the clip/event Video:Audio and I then scrub the pice I want from nere. I can either create a Subclip OR Drag highlighted region straight onto the Time Line - very very quick! Of course you can adjust lengths of clips by "hovering" over one end of the Event while on the T/L and ovnce you see the Double HEaded arrow you can Left Click and drag the event shorter OR longer.
