After I split a text event how do I edit one part and not the other?
I think I must be missing something obvious.
Thanks
I did a search and I don't know why it references the original clip.
The workaround works but why do I need it......
Is Vegas the same?
when you split a text event, you're cutting it into 2 portions, guess that's why it's a reference to the original so therefore it change when you edit the other portion. best solution is to create a new copy of it.
yes, it's the same in Vegas.
Many of us consider this a feature that we appreciate. It allows a very simple way to create multiple instances of the same event that all change together when one is edited. Each new event is simply a "mirror image" of the original. It would be very annoying if each piece had to be changed individually.
As Cindy points out, the proper way to achieve what you want is to copy and paste "to a new copy" instead of splitting. This creates new independant events.
