Sport Themed Music

Alright. I need some new new music that I can use for a music bed for dodgeball highlights. I have just about worn Cinescore out. I have the Smartsound that came with Pinnacle from years back but have not installed it for fear of it crashing my machine just by it being on it :)

I know that Vasst has some music tracks that are expandable, does anyone know if they fit the bill for sports? I tried clicking on the third one to listen but it takes me back to the index page. The fourth one only allows me to listen to one version.

Is there anything else out there that allows for variation and control over the length? I have a double elimination tournament left as well as 4 more full matches and would like to use something other than the themes from Cinescore and the music I managed to secure the rights to for usage. Thanks for any pointers.

TrakPak3 will work for Sports-themed content, I've used it for BMX and skydiving vids.

Try Freeplay.com

I think you meant freeplaymusic.com. I have attempted to used them in the past but for what I want to do and for the price, it is not economically feasible. Spot, I have purchased the 4 packs and hope they will serve me well.

Thanks,

Hi Jeremy -

I don't mean to sound like a commercial plugging one company all the time (and they certainly don't pay me - the other way around) but I have really come to love products by Digital Juice - They have 32 volumes of layered music called StackTraxx (I have over twenty of the volumes - they run really good deals - never pay retail) of which at least four or five volumes would be great for sports beds.

You can check them out at:

Enjoy

Thanks Bruce,

I am sure I will be needing more if I start doing more things like this to fill the gaps between weddings (and it is less intensive).

I could not agree more, Bruce.

I've used SmartSound, which is actually okay, if limited. I've dallied with Cinescore, which I found interesting but the lack of lots of themes makes it only moderately useful.

Digital Juice StackTraxx, however, are really great. In a given volume ("theme", if you will, such as Island music, Cinematic, Epic, Country....), there are 20 or more pieces. Each piece has a 10, 15, 30, and 60 second version, plus a full version of 3:00 or longer. For each of those, you can customize the voices that compose the piece. For instance, you can remove the percussion, or the horns, or the piano, etc. OR, you can render the composition out as multiple tracks, one .wav per voice, and re-compose in your NLE. It is just awesome, and the variety in music is incredible, and of very high quality.

In fact, while typing this message, I'm rendering out about 30 different pieces from 3 volumes (cinematic, epic, broadcast) for use in a sports video I'm doing.

Go to www.digitaljuice.com and download/install their free content browser (Juicer 3).

With that browser, you can view their video content and listen to selections from all of their Stacks.

You can also listen/view everything they have directly online - with StackTraxx you can hear the entire library online and even thirty second snippets of the staxx view.

(Only a few samples from each of the Sound Effects categories are available online however).

I recommend stock20.com. Their prices are just downright cheap.

You can get the entire volume 1 library for $99. If you only need a song or two, they are $7 each with a variety of lengths and versions included in each.

They also run very limited special deals on Tuesdays, check out the website for details.
