Spot's ProType Titler DVD: a "must have" - g

Hi,

I overnight-ordered Douglas Spotted Eagles'/Spots "Mastering the Pro Type Titler" DVD a couple of days ago, got it yesterday and watched it from start to finish...

...and I have to say it's one of Spot's best ever DVDs, and a "must have" for Vegas 8 owners. There's SO much that he covers that you'd never in a million years figure out on your own about how to use Pro Type Titler, especially all the keyframing tactics, that makes this a stunning new DVD that every V8 editor needs to get their hands on, fast:

http://vasst.com/product.aspx?id=82da69fe-4af7-4cda-8c86-d099b3855d2c

I held off on using the titler for months, because it is not intuitive at all, how to use it. But since I do titling a Lot from within Vegas, (in addition to proanimator, AE etc), I thought it was necessary to learn from the best.

As always, Douglas, you overdeliver superb quality in your instruction, presentation and techniques you share with us. Thanks for putting this out, it's a life-saver.

I'm in the middle of editing new video promo spots and really needed to get up to speed on the Pro Type titler fast, and the techniques you revealed go far beyond anything that's out there, things I'd never have even guessed about, re keyframing, time compression, grouping points, and all the other things that you'd never figure out on your own from experimenting with it.

Superb job - bravo! I've been learning from your videos for nearly 4 years now, making a fortune thanks to your instruction, in creating my dvds, so thanks.

This is definitely a "must have" resource for all V8 users - without it, I'd never have gotten beyond the basics in Pro Type titler, so *thank you*. Again.

Yes, it sure is nice - I think all the VASST DVD's are :)

Haven't seen all the way through it yet, but sure is worth every cent.

In addition to Spot's technical expertise, I have to say it's also a masterpiece in the way the information was presented, re the closeups, the zooms on critical pieces, plus great set lighting and layout, design as well for the shoot.

I'm glad Spot and VASST put out this DVD, it will help me create better titles with V8, and that's a big plus. Thanks!

Glad to hear you liked it/learned from it, Ken. that's our goal, obviously. I also appreciate the critiques we've received of some of our products, and the new additions in the Absolute Series for Vegas reflect those critiques. Mike Chenoweth did an outstanding job with the new DVD A 4.5 DVD as well, and you'll see several new DVDs at the NAB show.

I have to add a kiss kiss hug to Spot . I started with Vegas 4 that came with a custom computer that was built. I had never in my life ever seen video editing and I got the training Veg. 4 he had done. I was up and running the next day. I was doing some fun stuff. Have 8, got the DVD Titler as soon as it came out and I'm cooking. Sz

Careful with the pre-announcing there Spot, I was just going to order some VASST training on DVD, and you just made me delay my purchase 'til after NAB :-)

You won't be missing anything by ordering now nor then. I'll be straight up; there will be no product specials during NAB. We've got some new titles, but they won't be part of the bundles. We've already replaced our old Volume 6 (Advanced DVD Architect) with the new DVD Architect, so that also wouldn't make any difference. :-)
Either way...now or later, whichever best fits your time frame.
But...if you're at NAB, you *might* win some of the products!
Hope to see you there.

Hi Everyone!
I've seen Spots volume 8 which covers some on Pro Titler. I now see that there is a volume 9 covering this subject. My question is how much more in depth does this volume go into it's use?
Another subject that I would like to see is an in depth tutorial of Sony Credit roll menu. If anyone can point me in the right direction in regards to Sonys Credit Roll usage it would be most appreciated. Thanks, Ray
