A friend said he was gonna give me an old copy of Acoustic Mirror, plus some old Wave plug ins too. He used to do sound stuff now he's a full on computer geek and has no use for them.
Naturally I said No thanks....NOT!
When he gave me the disc it's actually called Acoustic Modeler, he said he included some sample acoustics that he did as well as some included in a pack.
I havent installed it yet, wanted your opion first,
Or anyone else that may know the answers

So can I install this, will it work with V5 and my old Sound Forge 4.5?
Is it similar the Acoustic Mirror.

You got good stuff! :-)
You have the same thing as acoustic mirror, early name for it was Modeler. I *think* Modeler can open the SFI files for impulses that Mirror uses, but not sure. It's been too long.
What WAVES plugs did you get from him? Modeler is cool, but WAVES are tasty sweet.

You can find a review of Acoustic Modeler here:

follow this link

Note that the article is dated 1998! It mentions SFI files, and as the plugin is DirectX it should work fine with current versions of Vegas. Enjoy!

True Verb, something like C1 ,something called IDR?,L1 ultra maximizer(I think you mentioned that one in your first book)gotta look in the bible.
MaxxBass,Q eq's,RCL, something like S1 and Desser, Plus a bunch more.
dont know what most of them are or do and haven't installed them yet.
Plus something else called Hyperprism? or close to it and another called Magneto.
He included a bunch of stuff he said he didnt need anymore.
Did I do good?

Thanks for the link Ibliss, gonna go read it now.
I looked over the list he gave me no Noise Reduction Darn! but looks like he gave me about 20 diferent Dx plugs . Whoopee, now if I can only figure out what they do.
Gonna start installing them tomorrow and over the long/hurricane weekend
Hope my power holds, other wise I'm firing up the genny so I can explore.

DAMN!! That's a GREAT friend.
I can't live without my UltraMaximizer. Set it for 16bit master on your master effects. I use the MaxxBass a lot too, the S1 is a stereo widener, good for some things. C1 is a very nice compressor.
Is it a dongled version? Or newer?
epirb wrote on 9/3/2004, 5:50 PM
dont know havent installed them yet, how do I tell if it's dongled, to me a dongle is a adapter harness for a pc to connect a diagnostic tool :)
he said that he hasnt used them in at least 3 yrs if that makes a diff.
Spot|DSE wrote on 9/3/2004, 5:55 PM
If it has a dongle, it will contain a small white plastic device that goes on a printer port. It will say "HASP" on it. Some WAVES tools had the hasp, others didn't, depending on the age of the tools. 3 years is about when they went to a dongle, then quit the dongle for Pace, then moved to a USB dongle recently.

Nope no dongle, all stuff was strictly software plugs, I'll have to ask him if he's got any hardware for sale too.Got all this stuff for fixin his A/C in his and his wifes car. Hope something else breaks on either his car or his boat.
;)
