did DV magazine get theirs? They's already had a Photoshop 8 review, Premiere Pro, AE 6, and what ever their Acid clone program is... but no V5 review yet (and not a V4 one ever).
I didn't do any reviews for US magazines on Vegas 5. Only for overseas, because it didn't seem right for me to write the reviews for US readers. Jan Ozer wrote one for E-media that was as flawed as most of his other non-Adobe or non-Ulead reviews, and for some reason, I thought DV Mag had picked it up.
Many HUGE changes at DV Magazine, I believe they are good changes, so expect a new look, feel, and content of the magazine pretty soon.
Holy cow... I just finished reading Jan Ozer's review in eMedia - glad I wasn't the only one who thought his review was incredibly biased. Does he even know how to use Vegas or is that not a requirement to write a review?
Jan Ozer's FIRST review of Vegas had him talking about how slow it was to render to an "uncompressed DV" file.....Go figure THAT one out. Then he couldn't figure out how to Chromakey, but this month, he wrote an article on chromakeying. Left Vegas out completely.
He's mostly a Mac guy who dabbles in PC land.
Anyone else want to write a review? I would but haven't used Premiere since v6, and haven't used FCP, Avid (anything), or ULead, so i'd be a litle biased. :(
I'd really like to see a review in DV (they gave a good review of V3, and the CONS were no media bins & PC only!)
Spot, for what it's worth, I've always been under the impression that E-media magazine as a whole is Mac biased. Ozer, in my mind, is totally worthless. I realize it's impossible for anyone to be 100% totally unbiased, but this guy doesn't even try! His review of Vegas 5 proves it.
Ozer has also written glowing reviews of Pinnacle Studio and at least 2 books on how to use it. I'm thinking that it inflicted major brain damage, and divide anything he has to say by 3....
