Squeaky Wheel needs Grease (Pyro A/V Link promised Fix -Where is it?

What about the Pyro fix?.

Sony and ADS --where is the promised fix? (ADS Pyro A/V Link and Sony Vegas 6) You can't advertise a combo that just doesn't work as a "DEAL." (or anything else for that matter). There is absolutely no verbage at the ADS site addressing this known issue. Can we get a fix? It would seem to be not that complicated, as the tandem works in ver. 5.

Try the ADS forum on COW, lots of squeaky wheels about that box over there. This thing has been broken for a very long time, I think they might have got it working a bit better but still far from even 98% right.
I got pretty dirty over how this was handled by their man on the forum. Comments like if it captures off air OK then the box was fine, the problem was due to wobbly VHS. That might be true but when you advertise the thing for doing exactly that (capture VHS tapes) and then turn around and say perhaps you need to add a TBC in front of it, it's getting a bit rich.

I don't think the bundled deal has anything to do with Sony BTW, anyone can buy any Sony product and bundle it with whatever they like, even a Canopus box!

Bob.

[edit] Just re-read your post, you're saying it works OK with Vegas 5?
What goes wrong with V6?

The picture just fragments, not totally but with a jangly effect that you can still see the picture, but would give one a serious headache were one to watch for more than a few ninutes. 5 is absolutely fine, smooth without a hitch. It has been promised already as of a couple weeks ago that it is being worked on, so now.........come on with it Sony.

My ADS Pyro A/V Link works great with Vegas 6.

I DO NOT have a stock A/V Link. Last year I sent it back to ADS because it had severe sync issues and it took them 6 months to find a fix but they finally sent it back to me with much better capture capability. It still doesn’t capture as good as my Pinnacle Deluxe card, but its much better than it use to be.

I can’t imagine that the new A/V Links are having a problem but no doubt people that have old ones (i.e., Rev A, B or C) probably have the same problem I had last year. It’s documented in this thread: ADS Pyro A/V Link owners please read. So you might just need a firmware update. Call ADS about it. I'm sure they will fix it for you.

I do have a problem with the ADS A/V Link not working with my M-Audio Firewire 410 but this has nothing to do with Vegas. The Firewire 410 works perfect with a Canopus Twinpact 100 so this is definitely an ADS problem as well.
