Squeezing down to Net size via Quicktime

Can anyone comment on what cautions to take in rendering an AVI file from the VV4 timeline to a Quicktime file? I have a short film trailer several people have asked me to post on the Internet but I have tried rendering (2.5 minute file) and have a result that does not play smoothly. Wonder if I'm overlooking something obvious? By the way, I shot with a Panasonic DVX100 camcorder and captured and edited all in 24p.

You might want to modify the default QuickTime templates to be 12 fps then instead of 15. 15 was chosen as an integral division of 30, so if you shot 24p, consider a 12 fps template.

The only QT files I have created that play good are compressed with
Cleaner.
