stabilize 4K video

cityanimal wrote on 8/4/2016, 2:07 PM
Vegas Pro 13 crashes every time I apply a stabilize media effect on a short 4K .mp4 clip.
I tried a .mxf version but that crashed Vegas also. Running Windows 10 on an Asus I7-4700 2.4 GHz Laptop w 12 gigs of ram. Media is on an internal hard drive (not 7200rpm) I can stablize hd clips but not 4K.
I would love to stabilize 4K footage. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Charles

Thanks OldSmoke but GPU acceleration is off. It must be something else.

This happens to me when I don't use the presets and adjust manually. I find it pretty odd as well.

I had same problem with 4k footage from GH4. Gave up trying and upgraded to mercalli v4 plug-in. I think the vegas built-in stabilizer is mercalli v2 and simply does not support all kinds of 4k footage. Best deal on mercalli v4 is found on vegasaur site - and in my opinion it works great.

I also use Mercalli V4, but the stand-along package. It is the best stabilisation software I have found, works perfectly well in 4K. Highly recommended.

I use the standalone version of Mercalli 4.0 - amazing - with batch and ProRes output at very high bit rates. Expensive but very, very useful IMHO.
