Stabilizing problems

I came across an old tape the other day that I had some video that I wasn't too pleased with because a few scenes were a bit shaky due to lack of tripod use. Since I had recently acquired Dynalpen's Steadyhand I thought that this might be a good time to try it out. I opened my entire video onto the timeline since it was in AVI format. I went to the first offending scene & made 2 splits at the beginning & the ending of the event. I then double clicked the event to select it all & got it rendered as an AVI file. I opened the same AVI in Steadyhand & after selecting settings had the file processed. I had thought that what I would do then would be to then open the new steady clip in Vegas & drop it on the timeline immediately above the original clip. When I played the clip back it definitely was much more stable than the original. What I found however is that the sound had a glitch in it when then playback went from the original to new clip. When I checked out the new clips properties I found that the new clips size was
about 8 times that of the original so perhaps I had used the wrong codec for encoding the new clip. What should I have used? What if anything can I do about the sound hiccup? I even have double-clicked on both clips on the timeline & have confirmed that both clips are exactly the same length.

Use the original clips audio. Also if you've just put the two clips on the timeline without muting one of the audio tracks then you're hearing a mix of the two which could give you the odd glitch. Possibly if both audio tracks are at around 0dbFS then combined they'll clip.

Yup! It's good . .you gotta be careful with the tendendcy to "Zoom" ain and out to compensate for the Frame adjust .. as it makes for the steadying process to happen WITHIN frame .. you can go into the settings and play with them .. I was told by one of our Chums here to "reduce" the Zoom setting down to ZERO seekms to have done the job for me.

Just used it to "steady-up" some hqndheld I did of fish in an aquarium .. excellent! - Next I WILL use a tripod . .

What settings have I got wrong in Steadyhand because as I said the stabilized clip is 8 times the size of the orignal?

I can't look into the SteadyHand menus right away because of other pressing issues, but it sounds like the program is returning an uncompressed video avi. What you want is presumably a DV format avi. There must be some way to select that.

Sorry I can't be of more help at the moment--good luck.
