startup error message in V13

This is a first for me; I had one film already running in V13, which I closed to then select another project from the File tab. When the new one completed loading I placed my cursor to the spot from where I wanted to preview it and got the following message:

An error occurred while starting playback.
The request is not enabled for this device.

I can scrub up and down the timeline and do all sorts of things, just not "Play". I quit, restarted and now it works. Has anyone come across this?

I am getting this error as well, constantly. It's really driving me nuts because it occurs whenever I leave Vegas and come back (for example, open a browser window to download video files from WeTransfer). It also occurs when I open a new project in Vegas after having looked at another. The only remedy it seems is to shut down Vegas and restart. Very annoying.
