Static/Fuzz when recording

sQuid wrote on 3/5/2000, 8:47 PM
I'm using an AWE 64 Gold and when recording, no matter what
I do with volumes, I get this aweful static on my tracks.
This used to happen with Cakewalk and I simply had to
disable full-duplex recording. Other simple programs
record with great quality and silence, but Vegas is having
trouble, with the same sound card. I've tried every
setting and volume I could think of.

Any ideas? It's getting on my nerves and I want to use the
program! Thanks!

Hello James.

It sounds like an issue with the either the soundcard drivers, or the
actual Awe64 soundcard itself.

You could try to update them by going to the creative labs website
(http://www.creativelabs.com) to see if this would help out, if not,
you could go into the Vegas program, click on Options, and then turn
off the simultaneous playback/record option feature.

Also, if you haven't done this yet, you can check your version of
Vegas by clicking on "Help" and then "About Sonic Foundry Vegas Pro"
to make sure that you are using 1.0B build #208.
If you have 1.0 or 1.0a you should update it from our website.

Thanks.

I had the "rice krispies" occasionally when I had an ISA card...a
multi-wav digital pro

did it once in a while in vegas and soundforge nothing else...got rid
of the card, got a pci card, got rid of the problem

Yeah, I think I'll be upgrading to a LIVE! or Yamaha DSP system.
Strange how it's only certain proggies though.

Yamaha is cool...but the Live....ahem...not so cool...
Check out the Aardvark Direct Pro, and the Lexicon Core 32...very
reasonable price...with room to grow

on the live, check this out... http://204.232.42.5/sb-cupon.jpg
