Still another Dual CPU Question

jmpatrick wrote on 9/6/2001, 4:56 PM
OK, so I've loaded a second CPU on my M.B. I'm running WIN 2K, which is all configured. Do I need to reload WIN 2K and all my applications now that I've added the second CPU? Are WIN 2K and the Apps going to automatically "discover" the second CPU and utilize it? If I do have to reload everything, should I reformat and start from scratch...or just reinstall WIN 2K over the top?

Thanks!

Aren't these questions that you usually ask and investigate BEFORE you go out and buy something? I bet used car salesmen love you. :-)

And this relates to this forum on Vegas Video because...?

This relates to the vegas forum because :

we could ALL use more power.

In a one CPU install, the system wont normally detect or use the second cpu. There is a DALnet channel #windows2000 which has a lot of info on this subject.
If it were me, I would fdisk everything and go from there. If in doubt, look in vegas's menu help about(I think ) itll tell you the number of cpus it detects.

I've also got this great 1979 Ford Pinto for sale, has low miles and in great shape. I had a new transmission put in it recently, but for a car this powerful, you'll probably want to go with the dual transmission option. I can probably throw this in for an extra $500, dual transmissions will usually increase the performance another 40% better than with just the standard single transmission option. I also recently checked the head light fluid and it was low, so I filled it with the Standard head light fluid, but if you like for another $100, I can fill it with the high performance Halogen fluid.

I once saw 4 V8 engines in a 79 Pinto! It was too powerful...it needed 2 trannies.
