Still Image Size

this may be a dumb question, but i can't seem to figure out how to keep my still images at their original size. it seems that no matter what i do, they always stretch to fill the screen. i've gone to the pan/crop window and set "stretch to fill frame" to 'no' - but no dice. i've tried everything i can think of, and even small images (say 100px X 100px) still fill the entire frame, and therefore look terrible. i can use the pan/crop to zoom out, but i'd like to know how to have my image stay at it's original size. in the pan/crop window, the width and height are listed correctly, but yet the image fills the screen.

I know of no way to do it natively automatically in Vegas. I do it via scripting using my "logo resize" tool which will return all selected images to their original size.

In the Pan/Crop window turn off the button that maintains aspect when resizing, but leave Maintain aspect ratio and Stretch to fill frame both set to yes. Manually enter the project frame size at 1.0 PAR (this would be 654.5 x 480 for NTSC or 787x576 for PAL). Slightly round-about, but it gets the job done.
