Still images in Platinum 9.0b

Hi, I'm new to the forum, and been using Vegas for a few months now.
I have a problem with a project: I want to use stills as a background which will be panned, so need quite large images/ I have no problem with smallish jpg images, but as soon as the size exceeds 4085x600 pixels, Vegas refuses to put them on the timeline. (4085x600 = OK, 4095x600 = not accepted)

Is there a setting that I need to change somewhere?

I'll be curious to know what the solution to this is. I have a project accepts 4228 x 2848 jpg images but it crashes when I try to do something!

No problem with m2ts and mp4 files but as soon as I mess around with stills it crashes.

Even more puzzling, the project works fine on my laptop.

It is very annoying, although I don't have the crash problem of videonob: just a simple refusal !

Suggest you use the search function (top of this screen) enter still resolution and you will get a few useful responses.

My stills run from 4700x3700 down to 800 x 600. I normally use my Canon 5D, 15mpx camera, but I also have 10s, 8s and 2s. I have had no problem bringing in any size image or type.

I have had no problem with HD video from either Vixia camcorders 1920x1080 or the 5D at the same resolution. This includes MOV and AVCHD files.
