Still Photo

I am putting a lot of JPGs I made into my Timeline.

And they will play back and look like Animation.

But when I go into Options and in the New Still Image Time I am have a hard time getting the right Speed.

I put in 5.010 and it played then to slow.

So I changed it to 3.010 and it still played it to slow.

And when I went to 1.010 it played it and jumpet around.

What number do I type in befor I import the JPG if I want them to play as a smooth Animation?

I did this before but I forget.

Thanks for all the help.

I did this before but I forget.

Search. The link is above and to the right a bit.

I believe you are looking for THIS

OK I Load all of my 99 JPGs into the Timeline.

But first I set the New Still Image Length to 0.050 so it would be one JPG per SEC.

So I hit play Back and the JPGs move but the Preview window Blinks as it Moves.

So I am close but I think it has something to do with the Time I set it can you help?

0.050 would be 20 per second.
1.000 is 1 per second.

Did you click on the "this" link I posted above?

As you most likely have a 30 frames per second (29.97) project, the length value should be 0.033.

I wonder ... does the Studio version have "import image sequence"?
MSmart wrote on 1/21/2015, 11:58 PM
It does. Well, the Platinum versions do, v8P included. Not sure if tb9 has the Platinum version of 8 though.

OK I open all of my 99 JPGs into my Timeline but forst I set new still image to 1.000 so it will be one image per sec.

And it works but my Preview screen Blinks Black and then comes back very very fast as it plays.

Is this because I should not be doing this in Movie Studio?

Are you sure you don't have any gaps between the pictures?
thebrain900 wrote on 1/23/2015, 4:34 PM
The way I open all 99 JPGs into my Timeline is I click on the first JPG and then Hold down the Shift Key and Click on the last JPG and then hit Enter and all of them get Loaded into the Timeline.

And now I just cam back to Movie Studio to rty it again and something is going on now.
I still open all JPGs into Timline but on Playback they move and go good but I would say on the 10 JPG it jumps to say a fue JPGs ahead.

Can all of these little things be because I am trying to play all these JPGs at one JPG per sec?
thebrain900 wrote on 1/24/2015, 2:18 PM
I think I should go about this one step at a time.

If I want one JPG to play every sec. I set new still photo to 1.000 am I right?

And because I have 99 JPGs I select the first one and hold down the shift key and they select the last JPG and hit enter to open all 99 JPGs on the Timeline. Is this ok or should I be openning them another way?

I still have v8 Platinum on my PC so I followed what you said.... I set the new still photo setting to 1.000, selected the first pic then shift click on the 99th and hit enter. They all showed up in the timeline.

My preview window is set to Good (Half). When playing back, the frames per second shown in the Display field jumps between 19 and 24. If I stop and play again the the rate is 29.970. There are no black flashes.

In Preferences > Video, Dynamic RAM Preview Max (MB) is set to 511.

Next step.

thebrain900 wrote on 1/25/2015, 10:26 PM
OK I look at my Dynamic RAM and it says 256 MB Available but I have 6 GB of DDR3.

And I have nothing running when I use Movie Studio.

But I set it to 511 MB as you did.and I set Still Image To 1.000 and Load JPGs into Timeline.

They Play good One Frame Per SEC. but when it gets to say the the Tenth or so Frame it Jumps to say a fue Frames ahead.

What do I do for this?

What are your Preview Window settings? Try Good Half.

From another recent topic you started, this is your system specs:

I have an i3-2130 CPU Cores 2. and 8. GB of RAM and win7 64Bit.

Is this a desktop or laptop? What graphics card and firmware version?

Regardless, v8 is a 32-bit application so it doesn't matter that you have 8GB RAM. But since you do have 8GB, go ahead and set the Dynamic RAM to 1024 (maximum).

If you play it back several times, does the playback get smoother? That is, no skips?

However, I think it would be wise for you to make a $25 investment and buy THIS copy of v11 Platinum Production Suite. I think you're running into incompatibility issues with your "OLD" version of Movie Studio on your more recent version of Windows.

Please.

Could also try selecting the whole group of photos on the timeline and pressing Shift-B to do a RAM prerender. I suspect it will play back nicely after that.

Sorry, just stacking the deck.
