Still pic for display after STOP?

On a number of commercial DVDs (and in combination with some set-top players), a still picture shows up on the screen after you hit the stop button on the player/remote (often the menu background without buttons). IOW, this sort of replaces the DVD splash screen in stop mode (DVD not spinning).

Any way to do this with DVDA 2.0b?

TIA

Never seen this before. I've only seen the splash screen that it is programmed into the player.

Example, please?

Examples: The DVDs in the Cary Grant Signature box, The Women (all of these are Warner Bros. titles).

At least one of my players supports this. But I have also seen this feature on different makes.

The still shown after a DVD is stopped is called a jacket picture. Jacket pictures are not supported by DVDA2.

It's nice to learn that there is actually a word for it. Now, I am just wondering, how difficult it would be to put jacket-picture support into DVDA 2.0c... (Nothing major, but might be fun to have).

Armed with the proper terminology <g> I did a Google search. Try these instructions. Create your jacket pictures (in Vegas, I guess...I forget, does Vegas make MP2's?*), prepare your DVD files in DVDA, follow the aforementioned instructions for putting the jacket pictures in the proper directory, and then burn everything to a disc.

I haven't yet tried adding extra files to a DVDA prepared "disc"; does anyone know if it will pick up the new directory and files, or would one have to use another burning program.

Haven't tried it yet, as I'm at work. *grumble*

[Edit: Nevermind, probably don't want to use Vegas. The file needs to be one frame only. Rumor seems to be that it's best to make a Targa, BMP, or JPG and encode it in TMPGEnc.]

DVDA won't burn a hybrid; however, you could use DVDA to author (prepare) and then use something like Nero to burn the hybrid.
