Is this the type of scene where the background remains fairly static (e.g. does not zoom in), only on the person?

If so, this is usually created by a combination of physically moving the camera in closer to the subject while at the same time adjusting the zoom on the camera to keep the background static in the scene.

If you want to accomplish something similar with just still images, you could use a paint program to put the person on a transparent background and then overlay the person on the background. If you can not use a transparent background, then put them on a solid color and use SBs built in Chroma-key effect. Then use the Pan/Crop tool to zoom in on the person, which should give you the effect you are looking for. The reverse could apply where the person remains static and the background zooms in or out.

Hope this helps with what you were looking for...
