Stills from Interlaced AVCHD

I am using VMS HD Platinum 10
My footage is Interlaced 1080 AVCHD.
I can capture a still image from the timeline, using “copy frame to clipboard” icon.
The images display traces of horizontal patterning lines. Some images a lot, some images a little.
I suspect that these horizontal patterning lines result from the Interlace process.
Is there a work-around to provide better quality stills from Interlaced AVCHD?
Or would Progressive AVCHD be the way to better quality stills?

Make sure your project properties are set properly (use the little icon). Set deinterlacing to "interpolate". Set temporarily the preview mode to BEST(Auto). Then take your screenshot.
