stills from video wavy

Hello,

Has anyone other than me experience distorted stills created from video using vegas (pro 8)? The problem occurs when I find a section in the video that I want to create a still image from. I capture the still as a jpeg and then add it to the part of the video that I want to freeze. The problem I experience is that when the video is played and the still is displayed it appears to be distorted or wavy. This seems to especially occur for stills that I add effects (i.e. levels, color correction). Also, sometimes I create the still image from the part of the video is that's in slo motion. Has anyone else run into this and is there a preferred way to do this to avoid the problem. The problem can be seen in this video:

Thanks,
Troy

The worst one is at 2:01. Yeah, you are taking stills from interlaced shots without deinterlacing them. That's your problem. You need to temporarily set your properties to progressive with a deinterlace method chosen before you snap your still at full quality best previewing resolution. There's a free script http://www.jetdv.com/scripts/SnapshotToFileV8.jshere[/link] that automates this for you.

Hi Lawrence,

Can you tell me where to save the script you mentioned so that it's used in Vegas Pro?

Thanks,
Troy

Troy, all scripts get saved in the Script Menu folder.
For example, C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 8.0\Script Menu
